January 2017 homes sales start slow – Red Deer

red deer real estate market

The last four months of 2016 appeared as though the real estate market was getting better, but this first month of 2017 showed a decrease. However, when we are talking about January sales, a 4% decrease only means 2 less single family homes sold than last January.

In January 2016 fifty-two homes sold, 2 less than January 2017. That’s a small decrease to imagine it’s a projection for the rest of the year. It will however be interesting to watch.

Bookmark www.HomeScope.ca to watch how sales numbers fluctuate throughout 2017. Will we see numbers increase through 2017, will they stay the same, will the decrease?

I predict sales will increase marginally through the year as our economy improves, but it will take more than 12 months before we feel the positive effect it has on the real estate market.
