June home sales in Red Deer lowest this year.

understanding red deer real estate

June, generally one of the busiest sales months in Red Deer real estate now has the biggest drop in sales this year. Single family homes (not including mobiles or condos) had sales of 160 in 2015 but only 132 in 2016. That’s a drop of 17.5% and the biggest drop this year over last year.

Keep in mind however, even if June had the biggest decline over last year it is still the second highest sales month this year.

Sales of single family homes in Red Deer are down on average -9% this year. We’ve seen stable months and low sales months but considering the economic slowdown in Alberta -9% isn’t bad.

The Red Deer real estate market has been a roller coaster ride for the first half of 2016, lets see how the rest of the year goes.

But ATB’s chief economist thinks Albertans will see the light at the end of the tunnel by Thanksgiving
