Red Deer home sale up again in April 2018 – five months in a row!

Posting today to show Red Deer homes sales were up again in April and the 5th month in a row. Since tracking sales we haven’t seen 5 months in a row with higher sales than the previous year.

We aren’t seeing sales numbers as high as 2016, 2015, 2014 and 2013 but I think we might see similar numbers during the last half of the year.

In addition to sales in Red Deer below are sales this month compared with the same month a year prior in the smaller communities surrounding Red Deer.

Single family detached home sales

Blackfalds 2017 (18) / 2018 (26)   up 44%
Penhold 2017 (4) / 2018 (6)   up 50%
Innisfail 2017 (10) / 2018 (8)   down -20%
Lacombe 2017 (7) / 2018 (9)   up 29%
Rocky Mount. House 2017 (7) / 2018 (9)   up 29%
Stettler 2017 (9) / 2018 (9)   even
Sylvan Lake 2017 (15) / 2018 (21)   up 40%

Six of the 7 towns compared above saw better sales this year then last. Combined Red Deer’s increased sales 5 months straight with the smaller town surrounding Red Deer having higher sales and it’s definite the real estate market is improving locally.
