This post first hit April 2nd with apparent home sale equal to last year. However, another sale was recently attributed to the mix. This allows the Red Deer real estate market to claim increased sales 4 months straight over the same period last year. Single family home sales were up 1.3% in March 2018!
Over the last 3 months (Dec 2107, Jan and Feb 2018) sales have been higher then each of the same months a year prior. For the first time in a few years we’ve witnessed increased sales in the Red Deer real estate market for at least three months straight.
An interesting thing happened in March 2017 though. Sales in March 2018 equaled exactly March 2017. Whether it was sales of single family detached home (76 sold) or all properties including condos, acreages and mobiles (98 sold), the numbers were the same in 2018 and 2017.
With home sales in March exactly the same as they were last year we can say Red Deer has experienced 4 months in a row with sales equal to or above what they were 12 months prior. 4 months in a row we have seen sale do as good or better than the previous year.
That has to be considered good news no matter how you look at it.
Also note, sales for the year 2018 are up 15% higher than what they were at the end of March 2017.
