Central Alberta average home prices increase
Real estate prices average up in Central Alberta for the first two months of the year and it’s a good thing after 2018’s discouraging results (see main image above).
It’s important to note however, prices increase somewhat the first half of each year, probably due to the increased spring activity.
This year prices needed to increase because they hit a 6 year low in December. The last time average prices were as low as December 2018 was December 2012 (see chart to the right).
Things appear to be improving when we look at the running averages this month. You’ll see using the chart below, prices have increased in both the 4-month and the 12-month running average. When we see both running averages increase it’s a positive indicator.
