July home sales recover from June, sale up 17%

Home sales have been slow in 2019 so it’s nice to see some positive news.

Last months home sales took a large dive coming in 23% lower than a year prior but this month things have changed a bit. July home sales were up 17% in July.

I wouldn’t bet we’ll see higher sales in the Red Deer market ongoing because sales have only been higher than 2018 two of the 7 months in 2019, but it is nice to see some improvement in a slower than average year.

Real estates sales Central Alberta wide also improved July 2019 over July 2018 by 2%.

More active sales in any real estate market is a good thing especially if inventory stays in check but the positive impact is diminished if the market is flooding with higher listings. In Red Deer, this year inventory has remained quite reasonable and it’s helped to stabilize prices.
