It’s refreshing to see home sales peek higher than the did last year in September. We haven’t witnessed higher sales much this year, in fact, we’ve only seen higher sales in 3 of the last 9 months.
I wouldn’t get too excited though, a discrepancy of 3.5% isn’t very noteworthy comparing a total of 88 sales to 85 last year in September and knowing sales are down overall in Red Deer almost 5% this year. However, you never know what the trend will start.
Maybe consumer confidence shows some light as we approach a federal election. We are already seeing some mortgage and home buying incentives as the Government realizes the impact fewer mortgages have on the Canadian economy.
